Siren has taken the old BrewDog site and Katie O'Brien's Irish Tavern opened next door on 3 October. Opening hours for both, and what each one offers.

Two new bars have opened side by side at the Brewery Quarter in a week. Siren Craft Brew opened in the former BrewDog unit on Monday 28 September. Katie O’Brien’s Irish Tavern opened next door on Saturday 3 October.

The Brewery Quarter’s managing agents confirmed both openings in an announcement on 2 October. (The Brewery Quarter, via Visit Cheltenham, 2 October 2026)

Siren: a Berkshire brewery’s first bar outside Berkshire

Siren is an independent brewery from Berkshire. It says Cheltenham is its first venue outside that county. (Siren Craft Brew, Siren Cheltenham)

What Siren says the bar offers:

  • more than 30 lines of beer from its own brewery and guests
  • a drinks menu of wines, spirits and cocktails
  • food: small plates, burgers and sharers, with a children’s menu
  • a Blue Light Card discount

The brewery says the bar is family friendly.

Katie O’Brien’s: live music and sport, open until 2am at weekends

Katie O’Brien’s Irish Tavern is the chain’s 13th venue, according to the Brewery Quarter announcement. It is at Unit 4, The Brewery Quarter, GL50 4FA. It promises live music every day and big-screen sport. (Katie O’Brien’s, Cheltenham)

Some points from the tavern’s own page:

  • there is no need to book a table for an ordinary visit
  • bookings are taken only for Christmas or corporate groups of 30 or more
  • it runs a strict smart casual dress code, at the manager’s discretion

Nikki Kontarines is a director at Martin Commercial Properties, which manages the Brewery Quarter. She said: “To have two new operators open within just six days is fantastic and highlights the continued investment and variety at The Brewery Quarter.”

What it means for you

The BrewDog unit is no longer empty, and the Brewery Quarter has gained two late-opening venues in one week. If you are heading there after a match or a show, Katie O’Brien’s is the later of the two: it stays open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Siren closes at 8pm on Sundays.

Both venues are a short walk from the town centre car parks. Our parking in Cheltenham page lists every council car park and its charges.
